About
The Excel Exhibition Centre was extended in 2010 expanding the original facility by 50%. The coating systems to 8000 tonnes of steel were re-instated following damaged caused during transport and erection.
Hundreds of uncoated splice plates were mechanically prepared and primed with a surface tolerant product before application of the build and finish coats. The signature roof trusses presented a particular challenge and had a two coat polyurethane finish coat system applied by rope access technicians.
